Not every journey we design is about wine. Some are about the other Italian genius: knowing how to do very little, beautifully. Salt & Stone is a week in a single cliffside villa on the Amalfi Coast — no packing and repacking, no two-night hops, one set of keys and a terrace you will come to think of as yours.
The villa is the journey. Staffed, private, with a pool above the water and a cook who shops the morning markets and asks what you feel like rather than handing you a menu. Everything else — the boat, the tables, the cars on that coast road — is arranged quietly around it, ready when wanted and invisible when not.
Days assemble themselves. A boat idling at the nearest dock for whoever wants Capri; a lemon grove above Amalfi for whoever wants shade and stories; the pool for everyone else. It is the shape we recommend most often for families spanning three generations, because it lets people be together without being scheduled together.
And if all anyone does one day is swim, eat, and read — we will consider the week working exactly as designed.
What You’ll Actually Do
A staffed villa held for the full week — private pool, sea terrace, and a cook who plans each day’s table around the morning market and your appetite.
A private boat day from the villa’s nearest dock: swimming off Capri, lunch at a cove restaurant reachable only from the water.
A morning in a lemon grove above Amalfi with the family who farms it, ending in the simplest lunch of the week — and possibly the best.
A hands-in-the-flour afternoon making pasta with the villa’s cook, for the table that same evening.
For the early risers, the Path of the Gods at first light — with a car waiting at the far end, so the walk is one-way.
One terrace evening of Campanian wines with a local sommelier — because we are still us — arranged only if you ask.

Timing, Honestly
May, June and September are the coast at its best — warm sea, open restaurants, bearable roads. July brings more heat and more people. August we honestly counsel against unless the villa itself is the whole plan, because the coast road becomes a slow procession. October is a quiet, golden gamble that often pays.
