I grew up on the stories of an old New York family, the kind that gets written about and mostly gets written about wrong. I won't tell you the specifics on a website. I'll tell you some of them at the table, the way they were told to me, over a glass.
What the family kept, once the stories were all that was left, was the wine and the habit of a long dinner. These evenings are where I pour both.
